We completed day one of our long drive. We covered about 470 miles, spent time in 7 states, crossed the Mason-Dixon line, saw lots of Arby's, Denny's, Hardee's and Wendy's and managed to avoid them all. Now we're relaxing in the comfort of the Holiday Inn in Staunton, VA. This is Lester's first experience in a hotel, and he seems to be doing just fine, as you can see.
The day was tiring, but we made it to our room and ate
the delicious pan bagnat that we made this morning for supper, along with a bottle of Jon's zin. Tomorrow, only two states. We're off early for Tennessee and another Holiday Inn.
