Well, this sucks, but we'll get through it. Austin is a place where people love to gather. There are festivals every weekend, sometimes dozens. And this time of year is one of the best times of year to get outside. Usually, South by Southwest descends on Austin in mid-March and dominates the cultural headlines for weeks.
Not this year.
But we'll bounce back. And I guarantee you that the first concert held at Stubb's/Emo's/Moody Theater/Continental Club/Scoot Inn/Ginny's Little Longhorn/Mohawk/etc. will be a celebration. I really hope that somehow, we'll come out of this thing stronger than before, with lessons learned. I guess we'll see. In the meantime, hunker down. Which Texans are good at.
