More Great Live Music From the Classics: Butthole Surfers (and Meat Puppets)
Not had enough flashback rock with Pixies, Pavement and GBV in town? Just announced, Butthole Surfers are playing two nights at Austin's Scoot Inn in late October. On October 29th, they'll play 1987 album Locust Abortion Technician in full. According to allmusic.com, "The record veers from heavy Sabbath sludge (even parodying that band on 'Sweat Loaf') to grungy noise rock to progressive guitar and tape effects to almost folky numbers in one big, gloriously schizophrenic mess." Sounds cool, huh? What's the pull for show number two? On October 31, the Surfers are teaming up with Meat Puppets for a double Halloween whammy (sort of like tricks AND treats).
Tickets on sale.
